We are the Caruso Family from Saylorsburg, PA. We live in an area called the Pocono Mountains that some consider a vacation destination. From our home on the mountain, we can see the ski slopes in the distance... but we hate the winter and especially the snow!

So, in January of 1996, to escape a particularly bad winter, we decided to visit the Orlando area attractions. When we stepped out of our car in Florida we knew “we were not in Kansas any more.” While it had been 20 degrees fahrenheit in Pennsylvania, it was 75 degrees in Orlando! That was the start of our love affair with Florida vacationing.

We started by spending two weeks a year in Florida. Every year thereafter we stayed longer and brought more people. At first when there was five of us, one two bedroom hotel suite was enough. When our number grew to eight we needed two suites. When our vacation group increased to 12, and we would need a third suite, I knew it was time to look for other options!

My name is Arlene. Having raised five children, I have always been good at finding bargains. I found that renting a house costs less than two standard hotel rooms, but is far more luxurious and family friendly. We were thrilled to learn that we could afford to rent an upscale house with a private pool. I had discovered the secret to great family vacations at Disney World!

So many times our children would want to swim after coming back from the theme parks and the hotel pools would be closed. When we went in January I especially hated the trip back to our hotel room from the pool, taking the elevator, etc. The hotel pool was “heated” but the night air in January was not! In our rented home we can go right from the heated pool to the house quickly, because it is only feet away.

Another thing I appreciated about staying in the house is no more trips to the laundromat. I can do the wash while we are swimming, playing games, or eating. The important things is that the vacation doesn't have to be on hold simply because there's wash to be done.

There are many more reasons why this is the best vacation choice for families. I'd be happy to discuss them with you, if you'd like. Just e-mail me or call me. You can get my contact information at the bottom of the screen, or by clicking the "contact Us" link to the left. I love to talk about Florida vacationing! Over the years I've learned how to get the most fun for the least money.

We loved staying in the houses in Kissimmee so much that we have decided to purchase our own vacation home, which is why we have posted this web site. Our own house is the featured home on this site. We also offer other houses that measure up to our high standards of quality lodging. There are four and five bedroom homes offered for different size groups.

Just as not all hotels in the Walt Disney World area are the same not all vacation homes are equipped and maintained in the same manner. Only upscale homes located close to Walt Disney World will be featured here. If a home is on this site it will be because we have stayed in it or visited it, and it has our stamp of approval for happy vacationing.

So, please enjoy my site, and let me help you have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

Here I am with my granddaughter Victoria enjoying lunch at the Germany pavilion in Epcot. I enjoy the time I spend with my family in Florida and Walt Disney World so much, I want to share the fun! Besides, working with these houses makes me feel like I'm always on vacation.

To the left is my brother-in-law Charlie and my sister Lori. For the last few years they have vacationed with us every winter. We all love their company! It's so nice to have the room for them to stay with us. Of course, I also enjoy the time I'm able to spend with my granddaughter Victoria, standing in front of me.

My daughters Leigh Ann and Arlene rent a convertible when they are in Florida. They sure couldn't ride like that in Pennsylvania in January!
